The desire for clean, minimalist spaces, devoid of cushions, clutter and soft furnishings is all very well in the height of summer but as the nights draw in and the outside temperature drops, the desire to draw the curtains and shut out the cold and rain increases.

Since the middle ages heavy tapestries and hangings have not only provided decoration but much needed thermal insulation and draught exclusion. Bearing this in mind, Byron & Byron created a range of more substantial diameter poles to cope with the weight of curtains made heavy by generous interlinings or simply taller windows or doorways.

The collection has been designed with the more traditional interior in mind and this is reflected in the range of decorative finials on offer. However, there are some simpler finials in the collection and the finishes available range from traditional stained and painted to more complex gilt and paint effects.
